U.S. Veterans Emblems

Good News For Veterans!

Veterans share a common bond through their service and sacrifice to their country and to this state. To recognize their service, the state of Washington has developed vehicle license plate emblems to honor veterans. Any honorably discharged veteran may obtain an emblem packet.

The Emblem Packet includes:

one "U.S. Veteran" emblem;
one U.S. Flag emblem; and
your choice of campaign ribbon or an additional U.S. Flag emblem.

How to apply

To apply for a veteran's remembrance emblem, you must show proof of eligibility by providing:

a copy of the DD214 discharge papers, if a veteran.
a copy of the orders awarding a campaign ribbon, if an individual serving on military active duty.

You may purchase them from any Vehicle Licensing Office, (service fees may also apply) or from the Department of Licensing, The Licensing Building, 1125 Washington St. SE, Olympia, WA 98504, or by mailing a check or money order for $10 with the documents listed above to:

World War I Victory Medal Emblems are available only from the Department of Licensing in Olympia.

Funds received from the sale of veteran emblems will be used by the State Department of Veterans Affairs for projects that pay tribute to those living veterans and to those who have died defending freedom in our nations wars and conflicts.
