Matthew Jakupcak, Ph.D.

Dr. Jakupcak is an Associate Professor at the Univeraches for addressing posttraumatic conditions. Dr. Jakupcak is also a consulting editor for the American Psychological Association journal, Psychology of Men and Masculinities (PMM) and he recently served as the lead Guest-Editor for a special issue of PMM entitled, “Health Implications of Masculinity within Military Populations.” From 2005 to 2014, Dr. Jakupcak was the lead psychologist at the Seattle Veteran Affairs (VA) Deployment Health Clinic for returning Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans, an integrated primary care/mental health service that served as a model of best-practices for post-deployment care within the VA Health Care System. In addition, Dr. Jakupcak has recently worked with the Seattle Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office in Washington State, providing consultation, education, and return to work assessments for members of law enforcement impacted by traumatic events.sity of Washington’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
