SPOKANE COUNTY, March 30, 2018 – The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV), the only national organization solely focused on ending veteran homelessness, has selected Cathrene “Cat” Nichols, Spokane County Administrator of the Regional Veterans Services Office to serve on its Board of Directors.
Cat has served in the role of Administrator of the Regional Veterans Services Office for Spokane County since January of 2017. She is a U.S. Army Veteran, holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Washington University, and began her career in Veterans Services with Washington State Employment Security.
In her time at Spokane County, Cat has been expanding and raising the profile of the County’s Veterans Services programs by developing new opportunities and making sure Veterans in eastern Washington have the same access to services and programs available to Veterans in western Washington.
NCHV Board Chairman Chick Ciccolella said, “NCHV welcomes Cat as one of our newest Board Directors. We are fortunate to have such a highly accomplished and dedicated individual as Cat join us. She has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to ending homelessness among veterans. Her background, knowledge, and expertise will add greatly to our organization.”

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a 22-member board of directors – is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state and federal agencies that provide emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid and case management support for hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year.
