HVRP works with low-income homeless veterans to help them lay the framework to secure housing and become self-sufficient. Case management helps participants navigate community resources and to provide support in gaining employment and occupational training. Grant Per Diem (GPD) provides homeless Veterans with stable housing and client-centered case management support that includes employment focused job training, mentoring, counseling, and other supportive services. This “Housing First focused” approach helps ensure homeless Veterans receive the wraparound services they need to successfully move into and remain in permanent housing. Case management, Homeless Supports | The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program at Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) is a rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention program serving eligible low-income Veterans and their families. For eligible low-income Veteran households who are at risk of losing their housing or who are experiencing homelessness, the SSVF program may be able to assist with maintaining housing or securing permanent housing, including case management, connections to health care and benefits, and temporary financial assistance, based on individual needs. Past or present Traumatic events, witnessed or experienced, such as military combat, natural disasters, serious accidents or sexual assault as a child or adult. Trauma untreated may result in disrupted family life, physical illness and reduced career performance.
As a Licensed Mental Health and Child Mental Health Specialist, I approach counseling with individuals, families and children based on a variety of techniques, which may include exploring past events and how they affect present circumstances. During our first session we discuss several approaches and decide together which might be best suited for you. I believe people are comprised of a spiritual, emotional, biological and social self; my focus of therapy may include these areas. Depending on individual issues, therapeutic approaches most helpful for the client will be discussed. My goal is to provide a confidential, supportive environment enabling discussion of difficult life events and development of effective strategies to cope.
