Rebecca earned a Master of Arts with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Brandman University.  She has been designated a Mental Health Professional with a specialization in Child Mental Health by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).  She has been in private practice since 2019 which has involved a focus on serving those that have served and their family members.  Her main areas of focus include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anger management, the grief process, parenting, and working with survivors of all forms of trauma including witnessing or experiencing trauma, abuse, moral injury, and traumas that occurred during military service. 

Outside of private practice, she worked as a therapist in a community-based, group practice setting for approximately four years.  This experience included being designated by DSHS as a Domestic Violence Counselor Supervisor which involved treatment of perpetrators and survivors of Domestic Violence.  During this experience, she worked collaboratively with clients that were court ordered for assessment and/or treatment, military veterans, reserve and active-duty military, and parents and children involved with the Department of Children, Youth, and Family (DCYF). 

She believes that therapy is a collaborative process and guides clients to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience.  She works to provide clients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives.  Rebecca uses an eclectic mix of evidence-based treatment modalities to meet each client's unique needs that include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness strategies, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and is currently working on her certifications for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

Wendy David, PhD, PLLC, is a licensed clinical psychologist with a 30-year history of working with veterans, women, couples, groups, and families. She served as a Staff Psychologist at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle for 25 years and on faculty with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington until 2015. She now focuses on her private practice as well as her consultation services to state and local agencies. Dr. David received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington in 1991, became licensed in Washington State in 1993, and is a highly-regarded and sought-after consultant and presenter both locally and internationally in the areas of PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), disability, and mental health. Her expertise includes Cognitive Behavioral and Evidence-based treatments for PTSD, depression, trauma, sleep disturbance, eating disorders, and interpersonal relationship skills. Compassionate and caring, she utilizes an integrative and holistic approach to treatment, maintaining a collaborative relationship in setting treatment goals while carefully listening to and responding to clients’ needs.

Blind since age 8, Dr. David has published two books in the field of blindness which have received international acclaim. Her first book, Safe without Sight: Crime Prevention and Self Defense Strategies for People who are Blind (David, McCall, and Kolmar, 1998), serves as the foundation of personal safety curricula in schools and agencies for visually impaired individuals in the U.S. and Australia. It has also been adapted for female veterans with histories of sexual trauma and PTSD in a program of therapeutic self-defense called “Taking Charge!” Her second book, Sites Unseen: Traveling the World without Sight (David, 2010), promotes travel and serves as a resource guide to assist and encourage travel and tourism by individuals with visual impairments and other disabilities.

Maggie is a licensed mental health counselor, Washington approved clinical supervisor, child mental health specialist, geriatric mental health specialist, registered drama therapist/board certified trainer, and registered expressive arts therapist. She has provided counselling to veterans and their families for the past several years. She works with all ages, focusing on building resilience and healing grief, loss and trauma in individual and group sessions. 

A graduate of Antioch University, Maggie currently serves as Teaching Faculty in Antioch’s Creative Arts Therapy program. Maggie also has training in several evidence-based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Dialectical Behavior Training (DBT), Play Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Prior to private practice, Maggie served as Clinic Manager at Valley Cities’ Rainier Beach and Renton Clinics. She also served as a Mental Health Counselor and Drama Therapist at Valley Cities’ Renton and Auburn sites, and Clinician at Compass Health and the Center at Saint Andrews.

Maggie also practiced as an Environmental Attorney for over 20 years. Maggie is married to Veteran and War Trauma Provider, Bob Wilson of Valley Cities, and is proud Grandma to five beautiful grandchildren. Sam Schwartz Landrum is a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington. He received his Masters of Social Work at the University of Washington in 2000 and has focused his work since then on serving Veterans and their families. Starting a business in Washington State

This is a road map for opening a business in the state of Washington. There are eight steps in the road map but not all of them will apply to your business. We recommend you read through all steps in this road map before applying for your business license. You can download the Road Map as a PDF file if you prefer that format.

Here are the 8 steps:

  1. Research and make a plan;
  2. Register your business with the Secretary of State (SOS);
  3. License your business with the Department of Revenue (DOR);
  4. Report your new employees to the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS);
  5. Apply for a Reseller Permit with the Department of Revenue (DOR);
  6. Register as a contractor with Department of Labor & Industries (L&I);
  7. Contact your local health department for food handling requirements; and
  8. Check with your City and/or County for their requirements.
