Walla Walla County: The public is invited to attend the Groundbreaking ceremony for the Walla Walla Veterans Home on July 1, 2015 at 10:30 am.

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) will be joined by local, state and federal officials to celebrate this milestone.

“We are thrilled to be bringing the services of a State Veterans Home to an area where approximately 20,000 veterans age 65 or older reside,” said WDVA director Alfie Alvarado-Ramos. “We have many advocates that deserve our gratitude for helping us reach this goal that has been a priority of the agency for a number of years.”

The new home is being built on the campus of the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center in Walla Walla and will serve 80 veterans.
