November 16, 2018

Olympia – WDVA is pleased to announce the selection of Linda Fairbank to serve in the new position of Clinical Compliance Director for Washington’s State Veterans Homes.

The Clinical Compliance Director position was established to increase consistency in care and practice between the four State Veterans Homes, and offer greater oversight and accountability in clinical areas implementing significant rule changes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“Residents, their families, and our WDVA team will benefit from Linda’s experience and we look forward to developing consistent practices among our facilities,” said Gary Condra, WDVA Deputy Director.

Linda is a Registered Nurse who is board certified in Gerontological Nursing. She began her nursing career in acute care at the American Lake VA Medical Center. Linda has served as a California state surveyor, Director of Nursing at the Barstow Veterans Home, Director of Nursing at Air Force Village West in Riverside California, and Continuous Quality Improvement Surveyor / Nurse Consultant at four local skilled nursing facilities.

Linda is a Gulf War veteran who served as a Flight Nurse in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and has been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars since 1992. She is currently the VFW State Commander.

She is very excited for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of veterans while serving those who served at the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs.
