The Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution partnered with the Department of Defense's Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration to Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans between the years 2012 and 2025. The last day of the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the war is Veterans Day: November 11, 2025. This year will be the final year of the Welcome Home Ceremonies at the Washington State Capitol Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
Sacajawea Daughters of the American Revolution will again be pinning Vietnam Veterans who have never received their Vietnam Veteran Lapel pin, and the surviving spouse at the time of death of a Vietnam Veteran.who has never received their Blue Star Lapel Pin. Following the pinnings Sacajawea Chapter members will take turns reading the names of the fallen soldiers on the Washington State Memorial Wall. Everyone is invited, especially Vietnam Veterans, to the ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial Wall which follows the Veterans Ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.
Vietnam Veterans are identified as anyone who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 regardless of location.
