Veteran Flood Victims Get Assistance from WDVA Rural Veterans Program

Who did you help? (This could be a person or an organization.) Veteran family that lost their home & vehicles in the recent flooding in Lewis County

How did you help them or how is their situation improved?

After they had reached out for the help, by the end of the day we had delivered food, got them clothing and navigated through the red tape. WestCare Foundations also provided them with a $25 Gas Card.

What makes this story noteworthy or different?

Within the same day, we were able to provide food, clothing and gas. In times of emergency, we were able to quickly and effectively impact their life.

What do you want people to know about your program? How can people apply for help? Contact Ryan Nabors, Rural Veterans Coordination Pilot Program Coordinator at ryann@dva.wa.gov or 360-810-0238
