Washington State Veterans Cemetery - Update on Available Services

UPDATE: 4/3/20

The Washington Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake resumed interment services for Veterans and eligible individuals effective Monday, March 30.  WDVA is limiting attendees to groups of 10 or fewer immediate family members only, in accordance with state directives.  Larger groups will be asked to reduce their numbers or be refused service. 
 
As a matter of public health and safety, the rendering of military funeral honors, whether by military personnel or volunteer organizations, will not be conducted until further notice.
 
In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health and safety of our employees conducting interments, the cemetery will not accept floral arrangements with interments.
 
The cemetery remains open to visitors, but we strongly urge all guests to obey local travel restrictions and avoid unnecessary travel.   Visitors should expect that certain portions of a cemetery typically open to the public may be closed (for example, public information center).  Please contact the cemetery for more information 509-299-6280.

*3/18/20 the Washington State Veterans Cemetery is limiting services to direct placement with an individual memorial service available to families at a later date.  We recommend all interment arrangements be made directly through your Death Care Provider or via phone if working directly with our facility, by calling 509-299-6280, fax 509-299-6286 or email cemetery@dva.wa.gov.

Walk-ins for preneed arrangements are temporarily suspended.  Please mail, fax or email preneed correspondence. 

Volunteer services are temporarily suspended. Grounds are open for visitation; guests are asked to adhere to social distancing measures at all times.
