Robin Lang is WDVA's first LGBTQ+ Veterans Outreach Coordinator, a position created in 2021.

Your Washington Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to a diverse workforce, and an inclusive workspace and understands that diversity and inclusion are essential for delivering the best service to Washington State’s veterans. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community is a vital facet of our veteran population.

The LGBTQ+ Veterans Outreach Coordinator position was created to connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer veterans to their earned benefits, services, programs, resources, and information in order to promote the economic security and financial stability of veterans, and their spouses and dependents.

LGBTQ+ Veterans Outreach Coordinator can also assist with upgrading your status if you were given an other-than-honorable discharge under the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy.

The LGBTQ+ veterans Outreach Coordinator office works to build a strong community of and for LGBTQ+ veterans in Washington, while also helping shape Washington laws for the LGBTQ+ and veteran communities through advocacy and direct recommendations to the Legislature.
