Anand Rao
Anand is the Suicide Prevention Program Grant Specialist at the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. He received his Master’s degree in Public Administration with a specialization in analysis and evaluation from The University of Washington. He also achieved a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from India. Anand has over four years of work experience working as a financial analyst. In addition, he has volunteered with organizations striving to end the stigma around mental health issues in South Asian Communities. At the Department of Veteran Affairs, Anand is responsible for championing the efforts of establishing suicide prevention policy and actionable objectives statewide. In addition, his position supports implementing the statewide suicide prevention grant program by developing processes and procedures. Anand’s passion for suicide prevention originates from his desire to dedicate his career to the welfare of at-risk communities.
