- The Department of Fish and Wildlife encourages all persons to experience recreation in Washington's wonderful outdoors. The following are eligible for a combination fishing license and/or hunting license(s). These licenses are issued at a discounted rate. See Disability Fee Schedule.
- Resident veterans with honorable discharge with at least 30% service-connected disability as verified by VA letter. * Eligibility will change as a result of HB 2014 visit https://www.dva.wa.gov/about-wdva/laws-legislation/definition-veteran to learn more.
- Resident veterans with honorable discharge who are 65 years of age or older with a service-connected disability as verified by VA letter. * Eligibility will change as a result of HB 2014 visit https://www.dva.wa.gov/about-wdva/laws-legislation/definition-veteran to learn more.
- Resident who permanently uses a wheelchair as certified by the doctor
- Resident who is blind or visually impaired
- Resident with a developmental disability as determined by DSHS authority or physician's signature
- License/Permit Eligibility Requirements for People with Disabilities and Veterans: Don’t let your service connected disability prevent you from enjoying WA State’s hunting and fishing opportunities! If your disability meets WDFW guidelines you may be eligible to have a designated companion assist in hunting or fishing and access special hunting and fishing areas. Lifetime Disabled Veteran Pass
Washington state residents who are veterans with a 30% or greater service-connected disability can apply for this pass.
Pass benefits
When visiting Washington state parks, you'll enjoy free day-use parking (no Discover Pass required), boat launch and trailer dump. As well as free camping or moorage.
When visiting Washington state Dept. of Fish and Wildlife or Washington state Dept. of Natural Recourses you'll receive free day-use parking and all other privileges a Discover Pass provides. Please contact these agencies directly with questions.
This pass is not accepted at Sno-Parks or National recreation sites.
Program updates starting October 1, 2025
As of Oct. 1, passholders will continue to receive free camping, but will need to pay reservation and change fees. If you make or change a reservation, you’ll be charged $8 for online transactions and $10 for transactions made over the phone.
