American Military Families – Action Network, would like to invite you to participate on December 7-8th, at the 2023 Veterans Stand Down Event in Tacoma, WA. This year's event will be held at the American Legion Post located at 11204 Park Ave. S, Tacoma, WA 98444

The 2023 Veterans Stand Down Event is a coordinated effort to provide the much-needed resources to veterans experiencing the housing crisis firsthand in Pierce County, which is home to the state's largest veteran population. This event will provide an opportunity for the community to come together to network while providing outreach services that will provide immediate community "Ripple of Impact" to our unhoused veterans prior to the upcoming winter season.

WHAT: 3rd Annual Veterans Stand Down Event

to End Veteran Homelessness.

WHEN: Thursday & Friday / December 7-8, 2023.

TIME: 10a-4p. (0900-1000 Networking Hour)

The GOAL: To Help End Veterans Homelessness

This in-person community outreach event will take place December 7 & 8, 2023. The event will feature more than 30 local and regional veterans serving entities coming together to deploy the much-needed resources directly to the community, right before the cold season.

Stand Downs are typically one-to-three-day events during which organizations, staff, and volunteers will provide food, clothing, and health screenings for unhoused, homeless, and at-risk of being homeless veterans. Veterans will also have the opportunity to receive referrals for healthcare, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling, and other essential services. Event vendors are encouraged to extend an invitation to all veterans that you may be providing outreach services to attend the event. Vendors are strongly encouraged to extend an invitation to the Stand Down to those veterans who are currently unhoused or experiencing homelessness, job loss, or at risk of losing their housing.

Outreach Vendor spaces are filling up quickly; there is no charge for vendor booth space if your organization is providing or offering FREE services, providing goods or supplies for veterans.
