Connected 56 Transitioning Service Members with Sponsors in Washington

Covered the cost of 796 Alternative Behavioral Health Recovery appointments

Provided 70 Lethal Means Safety Storage Options for enrolled participants

Provided $2,470 in food assistance

Provided $400 in transportation assistance

Submitted 56 claims for benefits

Secured over $1.5M in benefits compensation for Veterans

 

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program enables the WDVA to provide resources toward community-based suicide prevention efforts to meet the needs of eligible Veterans and their Families through outreach, peer support, suicide prevention services, and connection to VA and community resources.

The program seeks to aid Service Members, Veterans and their Families through:

  • Building protective support early
  • Outreach and education on suicide prevention, peer support, and wrap-around services available throughout the state
  • Peer Support Case Management
  • Facilitation of third-party payments for alternative behavioral health services
  • Supportive referrals and guided connections
