Description
The veterans cultural competency training, offered by the WA State Department of Veterans Affairs’ Counseling and Wellness Program, sheds light on the world that military veterans come from, highlights the challenges veterans face in transitioning from “Battlemind to Homemind”, and offers a meaningful discussion about how an individual or organization can create an environment in which veterans can find their “second mission.”
Objectives
- Describe examples of Battlemind to Homemind and how you can be a liaison between the two cultures.
- Describe the second mission, and how you and the Veteran can grow.
- Discuss promising best practices that will support veteran development in your organization and culture.
